Pregnancy

During pregnancy, the venous system is exposed to twice the strain as the body has to transport twice as much blood. When you’re pregnant, you also have a higher concentration of the hormone progesterone than normal, which weakens the connective tissue. The speed of modern life also increases pressure on the veins in the pelvis which impairs the flow of blood back to the heart.

Compression stockings help increase blood flow which relieves problems with tired, heavy and swollen legs. Compression stockings also prevent spider veins and varicose veins which can occur during pregnancy due to the increase of strain.
